July Third...

For the 4th of July we decided to have a potluck BBQ with our neighbors the McKie's. We invited a bunch of people from the neighborhood and on our street so we could all get to know each other better. It was so much fun. We were able to meet a lot of new people and get to know the others better. We had so much food we didn't know what to do with it all. We sat around and ate and talked while the kids played and then we pulled out the big guns. First we had a tricycle race with all of the dads riding their kids tricycles. Oh my goodness was that an absolute riot! Todd and our friend from down the street Larry were totally winning and then Jack (McKie) kept "tripping" Todd by throwing a hoola hoop under his tires. Some of the dads were having a really hard time because the tires were flat on their trikes so most of the kids started helping their dads out. It was soo much fun. Todd McKie is a PE teacher here in Loveland so he got the parachute from the school and we got to play with that for a little while, I mean who doesn't like a parachute... seriously. The kids loved it and I think the grown ups too ;o) Then we had a watermelon eating contest for the kids and spent over 2 hours trying to light off all of the fireworks everyone had brought. It was so much fun, we live in such a great neighborhood. Thanks Todd and Michelle, you guys ROCK!!!
